Education program
A cancer medicine curriculum that includes broad fields of cancer research ranging from the basics to clinical practice is offered in order to train both basic investigators who are capable of understanding clinical problems, and clinicians who can grasp the foundations of new concepts for innovative cancer therapies. The following are currently being established to improve the educational environment; an on-campus intramural LAN network; a research assistant (RA) and teaching assistant (TA) system; graduate education liaison by mutual recognition of course credits; graduate school liaison with off-campus research institutions such as the National Cancer Center and Central Institute for Experimental Animals; practical learning of the intellectual property and the commercialization process; and international teleconferencing and symposia such as the Keio Medical Science Prize symposium.
