  Development and clarification of the manipulability of a force display mechanism for a surgical manipulator

We have developed a laparoscopic surgery robot system in our laboratory. Using this system, we have evaluated the potential usefulness of the robotic surgery assistance system and are researching the next desired function of the surgery assistance robot. Moreover, we have successfully developed a force display system for the robot. The force display system is recognized as one of the most important functions for the surgeon, in that real-time tactile feedback is required for precise and reliable surgery. Therefore, the successful development of surgery assistance robots with force display is final goal of this research.
